Bevan Lodge Community Pre-School, first registered in 1977, operates from the ground floor of a 1900's free standing house in a residential area of Farnborough, Hampshire. The pre-school is registered on the Early Years Register and opens five days a week during school term times. We are open from 8.30-3.30 Monday to Thursday and 8.30 -12.00 on a Friday.

Bevan Lodge really is a community, and we are proud of our connection with our families. Read more about our pre-school by taking a look around this part of the website. We welcome you to come visit us in person, or to contact us here with any questions.
Facilities
The pre-school has three separate rooms where all children have the freedom to explore and enjoy lots of varied resources, activities and experiences. We also have a large and well-equipped garden where children are able to play safely and securely in all weather conditions.

Session structure
The sessions are structured largely around free choice and play to develop children's independence and self confidence. Every day the garden area is freely available throughout the session so children are able to move between the inside and outside areas as they wish. All our resources and play equipment can be used by the children whenever and wherever they want. The staff support the children’s play and learning by joining in with their games and helping to extend their play and thinking.
At all sessions there is at least one adult-led activity which has been planned to respond to the current interests of the children and to ensure that we offer a wide range of experiences to challenge and extend children's learning.
At most sessions we will have a short group time where we come together in small groups to share songs, games, activities and children’s special achievements. Once a week we have a special 'show and tell' time where children can bring in items from home to show to the rest of the group if they wish.
Our sessions end with another group time, where we share stories and sing some songs before the children go home .
Snacks
During each session, children have the opportunity to sit down with their friends and enjoy a healthy snack and drink (milk or water). This is one of many opportunities at pre-school for the children to develop their independence and social skills. They are encouraged to help themselves to their own choice of snacks and to pour their own drinks from a jug.
